SACRAMENTO – This week’s Big Spin Show included four contestants vying for life-changing prizes and was highlighted with two Dream Machine contestants winning big money. Total prizes won on Saturday’s show were $267,500.
The Fantasy 5 Dream Machine players who won big were Sandee Knuckey, from Redlands and Stephen Popejoy from San Leandro. Knuckey, an operations manager for a pipe company, hadn’t been sending in the Fantasy 5 coupons that won her a trip to the show for very long. “I just started sending them in this year,” said Knuckey, who won $95,000. “I have four grandchildren so I’ll buy a mini-van to chauffeur them around. With the rest of my prize, I’ll probably spoil them this Christmas.” Popejoy, a maritime machinist, won $90,000 and plans to take a much needed vacation with his prize.
Vanessa Herrera, a “domestic engineer” from Madera, is sure she knows what she’ll spend her $40,000 prize on. You see, Ms. Herrera is a mom-to-be. “I’ll spend it on the baby and we’d like to buy a house as well,” explained Herrera. She bought a "Big Spin" Scratchers® ticket which revealed three "SPIN" symbols on one ticket. That lucky ticket entitled Herrera to a direct trip to the prize wheel.
Mary Martinez works in the collections department for a finance company in San Jose. Martinez beat out nine other contestants to get her chance to spin the largest prize wheel in the world and won $20,000. She plans to put a down payment on a house with her prize.
