SACRAMENTO – The California State Lottery announced today that Richard F. Roberts has come forward to claim the $110 million SuperLOTTO Plus® jackpot, the 6th highest in California Lottery history.
Roberts purchased the winning ticket for the July 5th SuperLOTTO Plus draw at Foremost Liquor Market in South Pasadena. The winner has not yet elected which payment option to take. For the $110 million jackpot, annual payments would begin at $2.75 million and will graduate to more than $5.6 million by the 26th year (before taxes). If the winner chooses the cash option, he would receive a lump sum of roughly half the jackpot amount or about $57 million.
By selling the winning jackpot ticket, Foremost Liquor Market in South Pasadena earned a Lottery retailer bonus of $550,000. Schools receive 34 cents of every ticket sold and this jackpot generated approximately $64 million to education. This past year, the California Lottery contributed over $1.2 billion to public education and has provided more than $1 billion annually to California schools for the last six years.
SuperLOTTO Plus can be played at approximately 18,500 retail businesses around California. The SuperLOTTO Plus draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Players may purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
