Hot Streak Continues – More Than A Half Million Dollars Won on The Big Spin®

Charles MedierosSACRAMENTO – California’s heat wave might be over but contestants were still sizzling this week on The Big Spin Show.  California State Lottery contestants continued their red hot winning streak, cashing in on more than a half million dollars in prizes on The Big Spin Show which aired statewide Saturday, August 5th.

The big prize winner was Charles Medeiros from Oakland, who outplayed nine other Aces High contestants for a chance to spin the world’s largest lottery prize wheel for the top prize of $3 million. Not only was he the last man standing after two exciting rounds of elimination play, but he spun the wheel twice, first hitting a “Triple” before landing on the $100,000 spot for a total win of $300,000.  With a hearty “Mahalo,” Medeiros thanked the Lottery and was off to plan a big luau for his 1 year-old daughter in Hawaii.

On the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine, three lucky men won a total of $210,000. Larry Vellas, a retiree from John WolfeHesperia, was no stranger to the “Dream Machine,” having won $65,000 in 2005.  “I came back for an important autograph — the State Controller’s,” he joked before pocketing another $55,000 win for a total of $120,000 in two separate appearances.  Vellas plans to help out his family and take a trip with his winnings. Raymond Krassel, also retired, from Gustine, had the last laugh on a neighbor who told him his Big Spin notice was a good forgery.  Krassel proved its authenticity by winning $80,000.  A loving brother, he plans to help his elderly sister move from Chicago to sunny California for a much needed change of climate.  John Wolfe, a former sales manager from Redding, counted on the luck of an antique silver dollar charm and went home with $75,000. “I’m going to take my wife on a spa vacation to Carmel. I’ll celebrate with cucumber slices over my eyes,” he said.
