SACRAMENTO - Lottery officials announced the SuperLOTTO Plus® jackpot has rolled to $70 million for Saturday night’s draw.
“What are you getting the dads in your life for Father’s Day?” asked Lottery Acting Director Joan Borucki. “If you haven’t decided yet, win the $70 million SuperLOTTO Plus jackpot and check into these possible purchases.”
How about a tie? The world’s most expensive tie, crafted by Satya Paul, is made of pure silk and 150 grams of white gold studded with 261 diamonds weighing 77 carats. It is priced at $21 million. To go with the tie, consider the most expensive watch in the world, an antique Patek Phillipe gold watch from the 1930’s, worth approximately $11 million. Or, a one-of-a-kind pen would be more to his liking. The 'La Modernista Diamonds' pen, a rhodium-coated solid silver pen with an 18-karat gold pen point and with 5,072 diamonds and 96 half-cut rubies can be had for an affordable $265,000. With a $70 million jackpot, the world’s best dad can celebrate in a very special way this year.
It’s just not dads who win. Borucki adds, “California education and businesses win too. A retailer who sells a single winning $70 million ticket would receive a $350,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Education sees 34 cents of every ticket sold and with a jackpot of this size, that will be approximately $42 million.”
SuperLOTTO Plus can be played at approximately 18,000 retail business establishments around California. The SuperLOTTO Plus draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Players may purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
