La Puente Man has $1 Million Reasons to be Happy this Father’s Day

Ramon ValenciaSACRAMENTO - It was a happy Father’s Day indeed as The Big Spin® celebrated a second $1 million winner in two weeks as California State Lottery contestants won a total of $1,167,500 on the show which aired statewide June 17.

Margie DuronRamon Valencia from La Puente outplayed nine other Aces High contestants to spin the big wheel. Valencia, a father of four who works for Pioneer Electronics, took full advantage of the opportunity, winning $1 million. "I had faith that I would win," said Valencia confidently. With his prize, Valencia plans to take his family on a few vacations, buy a bigger house, and maybe start a business.

Two contestants took their chances at the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine including former contestant Susana Ruiz of Santa Fe Springs who won $65,000 in 1999. History repeated itself as Ruiz again walked away with a cool $65,000 which she plans to use on a trip to Spain. Margie Duron of Downey earned $50,000 on the "Dream Machine", and she hopes to use most of it to take care of her two daughters.

Stephanie Galicia, an 18 year-old waitress from Sun Valley, spun her way to $30,000 on the big wheel. She plans to put her winnings towards a new car and her college education.
