SACRAMENTO - California State Lottery players won a total of $262,500 on "The Big Spin®" show that aired statewide Saturday, April 15, 2006.
Saleh Kassim, a convenience store owner from Selma, approached the big wheel with a feeling of optimism. He hoped to win enough to help buy a new house and a new car, and take care of his 5 children. His optimism was rewarded with $100,000 worth of Big Spin money, which should help boost him in to a new tax bracket for next year.
There was only one contestant playing the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine this week for the top prize of $150,000. Julie Beer, from Redwood Valley, walked away from the Dream Machine with a cool $80,000, which she plans to use to put in a pool at her home.
David Katz, from Calabasas, outplayed nine other Aces High contestants to win $60,000. He plans to put his winnings towards a vacation home.
