SACRAMENTO - California State Lottery players won a total of $187,500 on "The Big Spin®" show that aired statewide Saturday, February 18, 2006.
Ulysses Arzaba, from Chino Hills, bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Mountain Market & Liquor in Ontario and uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin earning him a direct trip to the wheel and a chance to win up to $3 million. Being a giving and sharing son, he wanted to share the spotlight with his dad so they stood side by side when they spun the wheel. The Arzabas spun the wheel and won $60,000. "Now I can pay for my education," said the Arzaba son.
In this week’s Fantasy 5 Dream Machine there was one contestant for the top prize of $150,000. Sharon Allen, an in-home care provider from San Bernardino spun the wheel and won $85,000. She plans on donating to her church, buying a car and paying for her son’s college education with her prize.
James McCrory, a Los Angeles resident, outplayed nine other Aces High contestants to win $20,000. He plans to donate to some charities and pay off debts with his prize. Another contestant, Jerry Lamos of Chatsworth, gets the surprise of a lifetime when he finds on air that out he’s been chosen to come back to "The Big Spin" to play the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.
