MEGA Millions Jackpot Swells To $310 Million! - Largest Lottery Jackpot in California’s History

SACRAMENTO — The MEGA Millions jackpot is currently the largest in the nation, rolling to a huge $310 million!  No one matched all of Friday’s MEGA Millions numbers 09, 14, 34, 50, 51, MEGA number 40.  “At more than $300 million, this is the hottest ticket in town,” said Rosa Escutia, Director of Public Relations/Communications.  “What an exciting way to start the holiday season, by winning $310 million.”

For the first time since MEGA Millions was introduced in California, lottery players will have a chance to play for a jackpot over $300 million.  Also, since the game kicked off in California on June 22, 2005, more than $28.5 million in prizes have been won by 4,168,270 winning tickets.  Friday’s MEGA Millions drawing produced nearly 200,000 winners who won $1.4 million in prizes.  Two players won the second tier prize, each ticket being worth $236,204.  Those tickets were sold at a Mobil station in Valencia and a 7-Eleven in Lomita.

How to Play:  MEGA Millions players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 and one MEGA number from a field of numbers from 1 to 46.  Matching all numbers wins the MEGA Millions jackpot prize.  All MEGA Millions jackpots are paid in 26 equal annual installments.  A winner has the opportunity to choose the cash value of their jackpot prize within 60 days of the date claimed.  Undecided which game to play?  “California Combos” are also available with 5 MEGA Millions and 5 SuperLOTTO Plus plays with one purchase.
