MEGA Millions Jackpot Explodes To $262 Million! Jackpot Tops California’s Record

SACRAMENTO — The MEGA Millions jackpot is currently the largest in the nation, rolling to a huge $262 Million!  No one matched all of Tuesday’s MEGA Millions numbers 8, 16, 21, 25, 27, MEGA number 16.  “Having this jackpot in California, the biggest in the California State Lottery’s history, makes it a very exciting time to play the Lottery,” said Rosa Escutia, Director of Public Relations/Communications.

For the third time since MEGA Millions started in June, California State Lottery players will get a chance to play for a jackpot over $200 million.  Tickets for the $262 million jackpot to be drawn on Friday at 8:00 p.m. are on sale at more than 18,000 retail locations throughout the state.  Tuesday’s MEGA Millions drawing produced more than 175,000 winners who won nearly $1.5 million in prizes.  Two players won the second tier prize, each ticket being worth $339,129.  Those tickets were sold at Ralph’s Grocery in Marina Del Rey and 7-Eleven in Los Banos.

Many dreams could be fulfilled with the $262 million up for grabs this Friday, November 11, 2005 and it only costs $1 dollar for a chance to play MEGA Millions.  “California Combos” are also available with 5 MEGA Millions and 5 SuperLOTTO Plus plays with one purchase.  MEGA Millions players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 and one MEGA number from a field of number from 1 to 46.  Matching all numbers wins the MEGA jackpot prize.  Winners of the MEGA Millions jackpot have 60 days to decide if they want their prize as a lump sum or paid in 26 equal annual installments.  Since the game kicked off in California on June 22, 2005, more than $27 million in prizes have been won by 3,968,820 winning tickets.
