SACRAMENTO — The weather may be cool but MEGA Millions is heating up as MEGA Millions fever sweeps the state with a whopping $225 Million jackpot up for grabs. No one matched all of Friday’s MEGA Millions numbers 7, 9, 41, 53, 54, MEGA 38. “Californians have a chance to win the largest prize available and be part of the excitement sweeping the nation,” said Rosa Escutia, Director of Public Relations/Communications.
For the second time since MEGA Millions started in June, California Lottery players will get a chance to play for a jackpot over $200 million. Tickets for the $225 million jackpot to be drawn on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. are on sale at 18,000 retail locations throughout the state. Friday’s MEGA Millions drawing produced nearly 121,000 winners who won more than $600,000 in prizes.
It may take winners a lifetime to spend the $225 million up for grabs this Tuesday, November 8, 2005 but it only costs $1 dollar for a chance to play MEGA Millions. California Combos are also available with 5 MEGA Millions and 5 SuperLOTTO Plus plays with one purchase. MEGA Millions players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 and one MEGA number from a field of number from 1 to 46. Matching all numbers wins the MEGA jackpot prize. Winners of the MEGA Millions jackpot have 60 days to decide if they want their prize as a lump sum or paid in 26 equal annual installments. Since the game kicked off in California on June 22, 2005, more than $25 million in prizes have been won by 3,672,598 winning tickets.
