SACRAMENTO, CA – Lottery officials today announced that the second tier prize winners from Friday’s MEGA Millions draw have claimed their half million. The remaining half million has yet to be claimed.
“The prize for matching the 5 of 5 without the MEGA number is the second largest second tier prize, and will be paid out in cash before the 25% Federal withholding,” said California State Lottery Director of Public Relations/ Communications Rosa Escutia.
The ticket sold in Murrieta at the am/pm Mini-Mart located at 41240 Kalmia Street was claimed early Monday afternoon at the California State Lottery’s Riverside District Office. The winners, who were very excited, plan to purchase a house with their new found wealth. The ticket sold at Von’s Grocery located at 11986 Bernardo Plaza in San Diego has yet to be claimed. Winners have 180 days fro the date of the draw to claim their prize. All unclaimed prizes go directly to California’s public schools.
MEGA Millions can be played at approximately 18,000 retail locations throughout California. The MEGA Millions draw takes place each Tuesday and Friday night at 7:58 p.m. Players may purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw. Undecided what lotto game to play?
