Second "Next Millionaire" Draw Winner to be Announced
SACRAMENTO – California State Lottery players from across the state won a total of $1,257,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, November 12, 2005.
From the “Aces High” round, Cathryn Woods from San Gabriel won the game to spin the wheel. Ms. Woods held two jobs, one at a clothing store and other at a computer software company. That all changed when she spun the wheel for $1 million! “This is unbelievable! Now I can afford to quit one of my jobs,” said Woods. She plans to buy a house and take a well deserved vacation. Ms. Woods bought her ticket at Liquor Box in Pasadena.
Paul Loy, a sheet metal worker from Thousand Oaks, was one of three contestants on this week’s show to play the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” Loy, who won $70,000, purchased his tickets at Venture Liquors in Simi Valley, and said, “I’m taking my family on a nice vacation!”
Jay Maiku from Hayward played the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine and also won $70,000. “I’m going to invest my winnings and hopefully open a business,” said Maiku. H
e purchased his tickets at Oliveira’s Liquor in Newark.
Donald Crump, a retiree from Santa Monica, played the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” and also won $70,000. He plans to use part of his winnings buy a car and share the rest with his family. He purchased his tickets at Marina Del Rey Liquor Market in Venice.
Taking his turn at the largest game wheel in the world, Silviano Corona, a janitor from Fontana, spun to win $25,000. Corona who purchased his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Olmos Market, uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin and went directly to the wheel and on to win $25,000.
