Contestants Win More Than a Quarter Million Dollars on “The Big Spin®” Show

Ruben GarzaSACRAMENTO – California State Lottery players were excited to win a total of $292,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, October 22, 2005.

Ruben Garza, a mail carrier from Escondido was the first contestant on this week’s show to win at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.”  Garza won $75,000 and said, “This is wonderful! Now I can pay off my car.”  He purchased his Fantasy 5 tickets at Price Liquor & Wine in Escondido.

Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Violet Goodell, an office manager from Delano who won $65,000.  “This money will really help pay off bills and help me go on a tropical vacation,” said Goodell.  She purchased her tickets at Woody’s Liquor in Bakersfield.

Wrapping up the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” excitement was Paco Blanco from Fontana who won $20,000.  “I had a great time! I plan to use my winnings towards my retirement,” said Blanco.  He purchased his tickets at Dollar City in Fontana.

Letitia WashingtonThe contestant that won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round was Letitia Washington, a nurse from Long Beach.  Ms. Washington, who bought her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Pacific Petroleum Co., spun the wheel for $60,000.  “I’m going to use this money to help my mother retire,” said Washington.

Closing the show was Frances Neuman, a retiree from Seaside who purchased a Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Cork ‘N Bottle Liquor and uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin when she scratched it.  After spinning the largest lottery wheel in the world, Ms. Neuman won $50,000, and said, “I plan to share my winnings with my family.”
