MEGA MILLIONS JACKPOT EXPLODES TO $150,000,000!

SACRAMENTO –  The jackpot for MEGA Millions, California State Lottery’s newest lotto game, rolls to $150 million, with no player selecting the winning combination of numbers (1, 4, 14, 45, 53, and MEGA Number 33) from Friday night’s draw.

However, thousands of Californians did win mega bucks, including:  two players who won more than $226,000 matching 5 of 5 without the MEGA Number and one who won more than $63,000 matching 4 numbers plus the MEGA Number.  “The summer nights may be cooling off, but the California State Lottery’s MEGA Millions jackpot is not; actually, it’s blazing hot at $150 million,” said Rosa Escutia, Public Relations/Communications Director for the California State Lottery.

If you were the lucky player to win $150 million, you would receive equal payments of more than $5.7 million a year (before taxes) for the next 26 years, or if you elected the cash option you would receive $75 million (roughly half the amount of the jackpot, before federal taxes).  A retailer who sells a winning ticket worth $150 million would receive a bonus of $750,000 for selling the winning ticket.

To purchase your MEGA Millions ticket for Tuesday’s draw go to any of the more than 18,000 Lottery retailers in California by 7:45p.m.  Are you having trouble deciding which lottery game to play?  Try a “California Combo.”  This fun option gives players 5 MEGA Millions plays and 5 SuperLOTTO Plus plays with a single purchase!
