One Ticket Matches 5 Numbers, Wins $717,167
SACRAMENTO – Things are really heating up in California thanks to the MEGA Millions jackpot which rolled to $111 million. Though the top prize is rolling, one ticket matched 5 numbers from last Friday’s draw and is worth $717,167. The winning ticket was purchased in San Diego at the 7-Eleven on Mission Boulevard. “One exciting aspect of MEGA Millions is the nine different prize categories…somebody always wins!” said Rosa Escutia, Public Relations/Communications Director for the California State Lottery.
A single winner of $111 million would receive equal payments of more than $4 million a year (before taxes) for the next 26 years. A retailer who sells a winning ticket worth $111 million would receive a bonus of $555,000 for selling the winning ticket.
