Contestants Win More Than a Quarter Million Dollars on “The Big Spin®” Show

Susan DennisSACRAMENTO – California State Lottery players were excited to win a total of $277,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, September 24, 2005.

Susan Dennis a retiree from Folsom was the first contestant on this week’s show to win at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.”  Ms. Dennis won $65,000 and said, “I’m going to invest my winnings in real estate.”  She purchased her Fantasy 5 tickets at 7-Eleven in Fair Oaks.

Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Beth Gray, a state employee from Marysville who won $60,000.  “I’ll use this money to go visit my grandmother in Oklahoma and go to Disneyland,” said Gray.  She purchased her tickets at Raley’s in West Sacramento.

Wrapping up the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” excitement was Carmen Paez from Riverside who won $50,000.  “I had a great time! I plan to share my winnings with my family,” said Paez.  She purchased her tickets at Bi-Rite Market & Liquor in Riverside.

Bruce PhillipsTereso Arias, an agriculture worker from Fallbrook purchased a Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Bonsall Liquor and uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin when he scratched it.  After spinning the largest lottery wheel in the world, Arias won $50,000, and said, “I plan to use my winnings towards a down payment on a house.”

Ending the show was Bruce Phillips, a receptionist from Los Angeles, who was the contestant that won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round.  Phillips, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at A & N Liquor, spun the wheel for $30,000.  “This is awesome! Now I can use these winnings towards the purchase of a new truck,” said Phillips.
