SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players were excited to win a total of $372,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, August 27, 2005.
Opening the show was James McClendon, a retiree from San Francisco who spun the wheel to win $100,000! McClendon, who purchased his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Golden State Market in San Francisco, uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin which earned him a direct trip to the wheel. “I had lots of fun! I’m going to share my winnings with my family,” said McClendon.
Milton Grijalva, a retiree from Los Angeles, was one of three contestants on this week’s show to play the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” After winning $80,000, Grijalva said he plans on spending his Lottery winnings by going to Brazil and buying his wife a beautiful diamond ring. He purchased his tickets at Buena Vista Market in Anaheim.
Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Patricia Brown, a bookkeeper from San Bernardino, who won $75,000. “I’m going to relax and go shopping,” said Brown. She purchased her tickets at Express Market in
San Bernardino.
Wrapping up the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” excitement was Luiz Pereira from San Bruno who won $55,000. “I had a great time! I plan to travel to Brazil with my winnings,” said Pereira. He purchased his tickets at Tracy Liquors in Tracy.
Bringing the show to a climatic finish was Edward Ford, an actor from Los Angeles, who won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round. Ford, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Stewart’s Liquor in Los Angeles, spun the wheel for $40,000. “I plan on investing my winnings,” said Ford.
