SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players were excited to win a total of $227,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, August 20, 2005.
Daniel Houghton, a construction worker from Redlands was the contestant who won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round. Houghton, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Pasha Market & Liquor in Riverside, spun the wheel for $60,000. “This is great,” said Houghton. “Now I can use these winnings towards a down payment on a home.”
Georgia Chrountas, a cashier from North Hollywood was the first contestant on this week’s show to win at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” Ms. Chrountas, who buys her tickets at James Coffee Shop in San Fernando, won $55,000. “I’m going to use my winnings to take a trip to Greece to visit my relatives,” said Chrountas.
Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Vonnie Batson, an animator from Burbank who also won $55,000. “I’ll use this money to pamper myself and go on a nice vacation,” said Batson. She purchased her tickets at 7-Eleven in
Burbank.
Wrapping up the excitement on the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Jocelyn Queen from Los Angeles who won $10,000. “I had a great time,” said Ms. Queen. “I plan to take my family on a cruise.” She purchased her tickets at 7-Eleven in Gardena.
Janett Hendricks from Orangevale, who purchased her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Ralph’s Grocery in Folsom, uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin which earned her a direct trip to the wheel. Ms. Hendricks won $25,000 and said, “This money will really help towards my daughter’s education.”
