SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players were excited to win a total of $292,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, July 30, 2005.
Sam Brookman a bus driver from Chatsworth was the first contestant on this week’s show to win at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” Brookman won $80,000 in 2004 playing the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” In his return to the show, he assigned his niece, Martha Navar, to play for him. Navar won her uncle $70,000!
Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Pat DeOliveira, a retiree from Roseville who also won $70,000. “I’ll use this money for my 30th wedding anniversary party,” said DeOliveira. She purchased her tickets at Woodcreek Oaks AM/PM in Roseville.
Wrapping up the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” excitement was Tony Gudino from Los Angeles who won $65,000. “I had a great time! I plan to take a trip to London with my winnings,” said Gudino. He purchased his tickets at Rocky Liquor in Pasadena.
Maria Fregoso, a receptionist from Kerman was the contestant who won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round. Ms. Fregoso, who bought her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Kerman Food Market, spun the wheel for $40,000. “This is great! Now I can use these winnings towards a down payment on a home,” said Fregoso.
Ending the show was Ana Millan, a secretary from Glendale who had her father Jose Ruiz spin the wheel in her place. Ruiz won his daughter $25,000. Ms. Millan, who purchased her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Hope’s Liquor in Los Angeles, uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin which earned her a direct trip to the wheel. “I’m happy that my dad had lots of fun,” said Millan.
