Contestants Win Nearly Half of Million Dollars on “The Big Spin®” Show

Aaron RodriguezSACRAMENTO – California Lottery players were excited to win a total of $497,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, June 23, 2005.

Opening the show was Aaron Rodriguez, a sales associate from Baldwin Park who spun the wheel to win $180,000!  Rodriguez who purchased his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Toros Am-Pm Mini Mart in Pasadena, uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin which earned him a direct trip to the wheel. “This is great!  Now I can afford to go to college and help my mother,” said Rodriguez.

Dauphin “Dee” Williams, a retiree from Santa Ana, was one of three contestants on this week’s show to play the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.”  After winning $95,000, Ms. Williams said she plans on spending her Lottery winnings by going to Disneyland, paying bills and taking a vacation to Paris.  She purchased her tickets at Nady’s Market in Costa Mesa.

Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Ralph Fusaro, a retiree from Colusa, who won $85,000.  “I’m going to relax and go fishing,” said Fusaro.  Maiko YamaneHe purchased his tickets at Jackpot Food Mart in Colusa.

Wrapping up the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” excitement was Maiko Yamane from Torrance who won $75,000.  “I had a great time! I plan to pay for my college with my winnings,” said Yamane.  She purchased her tickets at 7-Eleven in Redondo Beach.

Bringing the show to a climatic finish was Carlos Nunez, a butcher from Selma, who won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round.  Nunez, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at La Estrella Market in Selma, spun the wheel for $40,000.  “I’m investing my winnings in a business,” said Nunez.
