Contestants Win a Total of $352,500 on “The Big Spin®” Show

Carl CantrellSACRAMENTO – California Lottery players were excited to win a total of $352,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, April 30, 2005.

Opening the show was Carl Cantrell, a radiology technician from Reseda, who was one of three contestants on this week’s show to play the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” After winning $90,000, Cantrell said, “It was pretty cool to have experienced being in a television production.” He purchased his tickets at Albertsons in Reseda.

Continuing the excitement at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Konrad Halldorsson, a restaurant manager from Carmel, who won $65,000. “I was ecstatic when I found out that I was going to be on the show! Winning this much money just puts the icing on the cake,” said Halldorsson. He purchased his tickets at Jack London Bar & Grill in Carmel.

Wrapping up the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” excitement was Norman Bond from Yucaipa who also won $65,000. “I had a great time! I plan to upgrade my mobile home with my winnings,” said Bond. He purchased his tickets at Yucaipa Mini Market.

Ricky Casteel from Shafter purchased a Big Spin Scratchers®  ticket at Fastrip in Bakersfield and uncovered Spin-Spin-Floyd SherrodSpin when he scratched it. Casteel had his mother Diana Casteel spin the wheel in his place. Ms. Casteel won her son $60,000, and said, “The whole family is going out to celebrate Ricky’s big win!”

Bringing the show to a climatic finish was Floyd Sherrod, an aviation mechanic from Sacramento, who won the opportunity to spin the wheel from the “Aces High” round. Floyd, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Lichine’s Liquor & Deli in Sacramento, spun the wheel for $50,000. “I’m speechless, it’s so exciting! Now I can do what I had only dreamed of doing … pay off bills and go on vacation,” said Sherrod.
