SACRAMENTO – Twenty-one California Lottery players from across the state combined their luck to win $255,000 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, April 23, 2005.
The sole “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” player was Patricia Mochel, a retiree from Salinas, who was happy to win $75,000. Ms. Mochel, who buys her tickets at Cask & Flask in San Jose, said, “I’m going to take my friends to New York with my winnings.”
From the first group of ten contestants to play “Aces High,” Chelsea Bailey, a recruiter
from San Jose won the right to spin the wheel. Ms. Bailey spun the wheel for $75,000 and said, “Spinning the wheel was a rush!” Bailey plans to go on trip to the Caribbean with her winnings and she purchased her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at 7-Eleven in San Jose.
When ten more “Aces High” contestants competed, Paul Nicholas, a tree trimmer from Colfax emerged victorious with an opportunity to spin the wheel. Nicholas, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Express Mart in Meadow Vista, spun the wheel for $60,000 and said, “I plan to travel to Alaska and pay bills with my winnings.”
