SACRAMENTO – California Lottery officials announced the SuperLOTTO Plus® jackpot for Saturday, May 7, 2005 rolled to $56 million. “What better way to celebrate Cinco De Mayo than by winning $56 million. You could throw your friends quite a fiesta,” said Chon Gutierrez, Acting Director for the California Lottery.
A single jackpot winner of $56 million choosing annual payments would receive 26 annual payments with the first payment being $1.4 million and the 26th payment being $2.8 million before taxes. The estimated cash value would equal roughly half of the jackpot or $28 million, the amount the Lottery would invest to payout the jackpot prize over 26 years.
