SACRAMENTO – Contestants from across the state won a total of $247,500 during this weekend’s “The Big Spin®” show.
Alex Smith, a retiree from Los Angeles purchased a Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at 7-Eleven in Los Angles and uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin when he scratched it. Smith had to spin the wheel four times because he landed on the “Triple” slot three times. Finally, on his fourth try he landed on the $50,000 slot for a grand total of $150,000! After his win, Smith said, “This was scary, I felt enough suspense to last me a lifetime!”
From the “Aces High” round, Jose Hernandez, a construction worker from
San Jose won the opportunity to spin “The Big Spin” wheel. Hernandez bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at 7-Eleven in San Jose and uncovered TV Show -TV Show -TV Show and earned a trip to “The Big Spin” show for a $50,000 spin at the wheel. “I’m thankful and happy with my win! I plan to use my winnings towards my mortgage payments,” said Hernandez.
It was a family affair for the sole “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” player, Ben Andreoli, a retiree from Foster City, who won $25,000. Andreoli, who buys his tickets at Jay Vee Liquors in Foster City, said, “I consider my family very lucky. My daughter, Christina won $95,000 in 1999 on this show and my wife won $60,000 in 1998!”
