SACRAMENTO – Contestants from across the state won a total of $222,500 during this weekend’s “The Big Spin®” show.
The first player at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Patrick Saunders, a special education teacher from Cypress, who won $75,000. This was Saunders’ second appearance on the show. He won $70,000 on February 16, 2002 on the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine. “I’m really grateful to be here once again and to have won more than the first time,” said Saunders. He buys his Fantasy 5 tickets at Caffe Mio in San Francisco. The second player to challenge the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine was Bart Chimienti, a computer technician from Laguna Niguel who won $70,000. Chimienti, who bought his tickets at 7-Eleven in Laguna Niguel, plans to send his parents on a trip to Italy and for himself, a vacation to Las Vegas.
Spinning the largest game wheel in the world was Ana Maria Cobian, a field worker from Oxnard who won $30,000. Ms. Cobian, who bought her first Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Express Mini Mart in Oxnard, uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin and earned a direct trip to the wheel. “I was shocked when I realized that I was going to spin the big wheel,” said Cobian.
From the “Aces High” round, Norma Santiago, an office manager from Los Angeles won the opportunity to spin “The Big Spin” wheel. Ms. Santiago bought her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Sunny’s Gift & Snack Shop in Los Angeles and uncovered TV Show -TV Show -TV Show and earned a trip to “The Big Spin” show. When she spun the wheel for $25,000, Santiago said, “I’m very happy! I didn’t expect to win this much money.”
