SACRAMENTO – Contestants from across the state won a total of $265,000 during this weekend’s “The Big Spin®” show.
The first player at the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Evelyn Miller, a train conductor for a “kiddy train” from Northridge, who was very happy to win $75,000. Ms. Miller is no stranger to good fortune-- in 1998 she won $95,000 on the Lottery’s online game Hot Spot® and last week she won $600 on a Scratchers® ticket. The second player to step up to the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Steve Jackson, a salesman from Hacienda Heights who also won $75,000. Jackson, who bought his ticket at A-1 Liquor in Westminster, plans to renovate his home and take his wife to Hawaii with his winnings.
Finishing the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” lucky streak was Soror Aziz Golshani, a homemaker from Beverly Hills. Ms. Golshani, who won $65,000, bought her ticket at Del’s Liquor in Long Beach, and plans to pay bills and go on a long vacation with her winnings.
Rosalind Wellesley, a retired caregiver from Hemet, purchased her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Palm Tree Market & Deli in Hemet and uncovered “Spin-Spin-Spin” when she scratched it. After spinning the largest prize wheel in the world and winning $50,000, Ms. Wellesley said, “It feels great to know that I now have money for a down payment on a house.”
