SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players from across the state won a total of $112,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, September 25, 2004.
From the “Aces High” round, Baltazar Salinas, a farm worker from Gonzales won the right to spin the wheel. Salinas, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Jim’s Liquors in Gonzales, spun the wheel for $40,000. “I feel blessed to have won this much money,” said Salinas. He plans to pay bills and help his family with his winnings.
Gary Lopez, a customer service representative from Santa Ana, purchased his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Smoke Shop in Irvine and uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin when he scratched it. After spinning the largest lottery wheel in the world, Lopez won $30,000, and said, “It was exciting to spin the wheel but I’m more excited about buying a new truck.”
Karen Scheneman from Fontana was the only contestant on this week’s show to play “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine.” Ms. Scheneman, who won $20,000, purchased her ticket at Von’s Grocery in Fontana, and said, “This is great! I can now go to Boston to visit my children.”
