SACRAMENTO, August 29, 2004 – Three winning tickets will split last night’s jackpot of $100 million and matched all six numbers – 17, 18, 28, 33, 39, Mega 19.
The tickets were sold in Los Altos, Huntington Beach and Sausalito and each ticket is worth $33,333,333.
“Now we wait for the winners to come forward,” commented Dennis Sequeira, Interim Director of the California State Lottery. “Some people don’t check their numbers right away and many choose to get financial or legal advice before coming forward. Either way, it’s a great way to end the summer for the lucky winners.”
If the lucky winners chose the cash option, their tickets would each be worth $16.6 million (before a 25% federal withholding is taken out). A winner who chose the annuity option would receive payments beginning at $833,000 and graduating to $1.6 million by the 26th year (again, before a 25% federal withholding is taken out).
Each retailer will receive approximately $167,000 or 1/2 of 1% of each winning ticket. The retail locations where the winning tickets were sold are JP Liquors at 996 Loraine Avenue in Los Altos, Calva Dairy at 15942 Edward Street in Huntington Beach and Pal’s Liquors & Wines at 3001 Bridgeway in Sausalito.
With at least 34% of all Lottery sales going to education, this jackpot generated more than $62 million for California’s public schools.
SuperLotto Plus can be played at approximately 18,000 retail business establishments around the state. The SuperLotto Plus draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Players can purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
