SACRAMENTO, CA. July 15, 2004 -- Lottery officials announced the estimated SuperLOTTO Plus® jackpot for Saturday, July 17, 2004 at $44 million. “This is the third largest prize we’ve offered this year,” said Lottery Interim Director Dennis Sequeira. “Besides changing the life of a lucky person matching five numbers plus the MEGA number, this jackpot will provide an additional $27 million in revenues to California’s public schools.”
On February 16, 2002, the largest jackpot in California Lottery history reached $193 million and was won by 3 winning tickets purchased in Montebello, Orange and Half Moon Bay. Alcario Castellano of San Jose, California made Lottery history when he became the record-breaking highest individual jackpot winner of $141 million on June 23, 2001.
There were 247,765 winning tickets for the SuperLOTTO Plus draw held Wednesday, July 14, 2004 winning $1,860,151 ranging in prizes from $2 to $16,436.
