Two Spins Net Lompoc Man $3 Million on “The Big Spin®”

SACRAMENTO – Twenty-one California Lottery players from across the state combine their luck to win $3,175,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, May 15, 2004.

From the first group of ten to play “Aces High,” Alfredo Torres from Lompoc won the right to spin the wheel.  The retired janitor got the TRIPLE spoke on his first spin.  When the ball and the wheel stopped after his second spin, Torres became the winner of $3 million!  Torres said, “I never thought this would happen to me.  It’s a blessing!”  After buying a new car, paying off his debt and helping his family with his new fortune, Torres will probably still shop at Von’s Grocery in Lompoc where he bought his lucky ticket.

When ten more “Aces High” contestants competed, Shaun Duncan, a store clerk from San Leandro emerged victorious.  Duncan, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at 7-Eleven in San Leandro, spun the wheel for $60,000.  Duncan said, “I’m going to take a long trip to Europe with my winnings.”

The only player to challenge the “Fantasy 5 Dream Machine” was Jane Greenhill from Vista.   Greenhill plays Fantasy 5 at Von’s Grocery in Carlsbad.  “I plan to take my whole family to New York,” she said after winning $70,000.
