January 27, 2004, Sacramento – The California Lottery is pleased to announce the five finalists in the competitively bid $100 million General Market Advertising Contract. The finalists, in alphabetical order, are as follows: BBDO West; Dailey & Associates; DDB/Alcone/OMD; Grey Worldwide Los Angeles; and Ground Zero.
These five agencies were selected from a group of eight talented agencies that had previously submitted proposals and met all the requirements of the Request for Proposal. “We appreciate the level of collaboration during this process from industry partners and participating agencies. As a result, the Lottery is able to move closer to securing the services of a strong and innovative advertising partner who will help the Lottery achieve its goal of contributing over $1 billion to California’s public education for a fourth year,” said Tony Molica, Chief Executive Officer, California Lottery.
Finalists will be invited to participate in briefings and presentations, which should take place in February. The contract is expected to take effect around Spring 2004, with Lottery Commission approval.
