HAPPY NEW YEAR! SUPERLOTTO PLUS JACKPOT GROWS TO $81 MILLION !

SACRAMENTO, January 1, 2004 – California Lottery officials have announced the SuperLotto Plus jackpot for Saturday, January 3, 2004 at $81 million after no one matched the New Year's Eve winning combination of 10, 12, 18, 23, 30 and MEGA 2. "It feels good to begin the New Year knowing that the Lottery is contributing approximately $50 million, from ticket sales associated with this jackpot, to California public schools," said Tony Molica, Lottery CEO. In 2003 the California Lottery contributed $1 BILLION to public education.

The lucky single jackpot winner who chooses the 26 graduated annual payments would receive approximately $2,025,000 the first year and those payments would graduate to $4,131,000 by the 26th year (before taxes). A single jackpot winner who chooses the cash option would receive the estimated cash value which is roughly half the announced jackpot or $40.5 million (before taxes).

The retailer who sells a single winning $81 million ticket will receive a $405,000 bonus. SuperLotto Plus can be played at more than 18,000 retail business establishments statewide. The SuperLotto Plus draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Check your paper for your local station listing.
