Hesperia Resident Wins $1 Million on "Big Spin® 2000" Show

SACRAMENTO -- California Lottery's "Big Spin® 2000" show airs Saturday, September 16, 2000, in twelve television markets statewide. Contestants on this week's show won a total of $1,277,500.

Shirley Wilkinson's nephew bought a "Big Spin" Scratchers® ticket for her as a Mother's Day gift. Wilkinson asked him to scratch off the ticket. They were very excited when that ticket revealed three 'SPIN' symbols on it entitling the Hesperia resident to spin the largest prize wheel in the world. Wilkinson spun the prize wheel to win $1,000,000! Wilkinson plans to use part of her prize money for a family reunion at Lake Shasta, to pay off bills and to invest.

Fantasy 5TM contestants won a total of $230,000 on this week's show. James Disnuke of Los Angeles was the top winner with $95,000. Disnuke plans to pay off his debts and travel. Manfred Schaffler of Pleasant Hill said he will put the $70,000 he won into his house. While June Rose of San Francisco plans to put the $55,000 she won to pay off bills and take a vacation, Simi Valley resident Steve Solway plans to share his win of $10,000 with friends.

California Gold contestants won a combined total of $47,500. Adam Haro of Daly City was the top winner with $25,000.
