"Big Spin® 2000 Contestants Win $422,500

SACRAMENTO -- California Lottery's "Big Spin® 2000" show airs Saturday, June 10, 2000 in twelve television markets statewide. Contestants on this week's show won a total of $422,500.

Fantasy 5^TM contestants won a total of $245,000. Gilroy resident Maria Barboza and Moreno Valley resident Eva Spencer each won $75,000 on the Fantasy 5^TM Dream Machine. Ceres resident Steven Ott was the top Fantasy 5^TM Dream Machine contestant winning $95,000.

Nahid Golgolab of Laguna Niguel got three "Spin" symbols on a "Big Spin 2000" Scratchers® ticket. That ticket got Golgolab a direct trip to the show. Once at the show, Golgolab spun the largest prize wheel in the world and won $30,000.

The newest Big Spin 2000 game, High Roller, brought Inglewood resident Carolyn Younger $80,000. Russell Bartholomew of Sacramento won $5,000.

California Gold contestants won a total of $62,500. Ismael Cervantes of Los Angeles was the top winner with $40,000.

The California Lottery sells its products through a network of more than 18,000 outlets statewide. The Lottery provides 52.5 percent of its revenues to players as prizes, 34 percent to public schools and 14 percent for administrative expenses, which includes 6.8 percent for retailer commissions. Since 1985, the Lottery has raised more than $11 billion for public schools. The California Lottery's contribution equals approximately 2 percent of the state's total education budget. "Big Spin® 2000" is the longest running Lottery game show in the country, airing continuously since 1985.
