SACRAMENTO -- The new California Lottery's "Big Spin® 2000" show airs Saturday September 18, 1999 in twelve television markets statewide. Contestants on this week's show won a total of $233,500.
"When I found out I was going to the show, I about jumped out of my seat," exclaimed Warren Dunlap, a Supervisor at East Bay MUD. Dunlap, a resident of Walnut Creek, said he's very elated about his $65,000 win playing the Fantasy 5TM Dream Machine. He plans to give some of his prize money to his wife and son and put the rest of it towards his retirement.
Fame & Fortune contestants won a total of $46,000. Gallaram Singh, a storeowner from Los Angeles, was the top winner with $31,000. Singh plans to pay bills with his prize money. Other Fame & Fortune winners were Nattapol Rodthiang from Oakland winning $10,000 and Nadine Shahan from Downy winning $5,000.
Guadalupe Jaramillo, proxy for Daniel Jaramillo from Downey, went for her son's share of the gold playing California Gold and won $60,000. Jaramillo spun the largest prize wheel in the world and it landed on $65,000. Jaramillo plans to help his 78-year-old mother buy a new home and pay some bills. Other California Gold contestants won a total of $22,500.
David Barocio from Blythe had a winning Scratchers® with three "Spin" symbols on it. This won him a direct trip to the biggest prize wheel in the world. Once at the wheel, Barocio was able to make his wife's dream come true. She'd always wanted to go to Vegas and now they will be able to with Barocio's $40,000 win.
