Lotto Fever Sets In As SuperLotto Jackpot Rolls To $41 Million

SACRAMENTO -- Lottery officials announced the estimated SuperLotto jackpot for tonight's draw is $30 million. "Our jackpot is the second highest single-state jackpot in the country right now," said Lottery Commission Chairman, Dan Apodaca. "California's public schools will also receive $16.7 million from this jackpot alone."

A single jackpot winner of $30 million who chooses the 26 graduated annual payments would receive approximately $750,000 the first year and those payments would graduate to $1,530,000 by the 26th year (before taxes). A single jackpot winner who chose the cash option would receive the estimated cash value which is roughly half the announced jackpot or $15 million (before taxes).

There is one outstanding SuperLotto ticket still unclaimed. The winning ticket for the March 20, 1999 draw is worth $15 million. The ticket was bought at Top Valu Market located at 3425 Whittier Boulevard in Los Angeles. If you live in or were visiting the Los Angeles area during mid-March, check your tickets!

SuperLotto can be played at more than 18,000 retail business establishments around the state. The SuperLotto draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Players can purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
