SACRAMENTO – A single California Lottery ticket purchased in Shasta Lake hit all six winning numbers in last night’s SuperLOTTO Plus game. At the time of the draw, the jackpot was the largest in the nation at $76 million.
The winning ticket was purchased from the Circle K at 4833 Shasta Dam Boulevard. The winning numbers are 14, 23, 24, 25, 44, and the Mega number is 18. Four other tickets – purchased in Culver City, Los Angeles, San Jose and Floriston – matched five of the six winning numbers and are each worth $29,473.
In Southern California, there was another California Lottery winner, as a ticket purchased in East Los Angeles won the quarter-million-dollar Fantasy 5 jackpot. The ticket – sold at the Chinatown Express located at 5201 Whittier Boulevard – matched all five winning numbers of 21, 4, 8, 37 and 28 and is worth $287,781 to the lucky winner.
The California Lottery wants to remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit your local Lottery District Office (www.calottery.com/AboutUs/Locations) as soon as possible. Tickets worth $600 or more must be claimed at a Lottery District Office. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed nearly $21 billion to California schools out of total sales of nearly $56 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.6 billion in compensation since 1985.
