“Make Me a Millionaire” Awards Cash, Prizes and Cars!
SACRAMENTO – The California Lottery’s new TV game show, “Make Me a Millionaire,” continues to reward Californians on the newest big-money game show on television.
On this week’s episode, more than $189,500 in cash and prizes was awarded to 12 contestants. As part of the Lottery’s ongoing innovative promotions, three contestants were selected to appear on the show through a second-chance online drawing on this week’s episode of “Make Me a Millionaire.”
Many contestants traveled to the show to vie for cash and prizes and some to celebrate special occasions. Faith Koller, a librarian from Sacramento celebrated her birthday at the show. She walked away with a brand new car and another prize, which she excitedly told her husband about. “Honey, I won a new grill so you can throw out that monstrosity in the backyard,” she said.
Other contestants included retiree Jesus Quintana from Van Nuys and Primitivo Sanchez from Hemet. Quintana walked away with $54,000 and said he will use his prize to pay off his house. With the progressive jackpot increasing $200,000 each week, next week’s contestants will have a chance to win $1.8 million.

Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed nearly $21 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $56 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.6 billion in compensation since 1985.
