Upgrades Galore on the ‘Big Spin®’ Show
SACRAMENTO – Ronald Reeves, who lives in Tustin, is no stranger to winning the California Lottery. Three years ago, he won approximately $500 from a Fantasy 5 ticket. This time around, Reeves got a chance to step up to the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine on the Lottery’s Big Spin show and grossed a $60,000 prize. He plans to use the money to fund some re-modeling to his home, and now he might upgrade his upgrades. The grand total won by all contestants on this week’s episode of the Big Spin was $172,500.
Juan Sanchez of Los Angeles has been a tailor for 15 years. He plays Lottery games often and was very excited to learn he had won a chance at the wheel. His spin made him $30,000 richer, and he discussed using the money as a down payment for a home for his wife and two children.
Dong Wook Kim from Camarillo is a laundromat owner and had the chance to really win big at the wheel. As his wife of 25 years cheered him on, Kim’s spin grossed $60,000. The one thing Kim looks forward to doing with his winnings is replacing his car – that has more than 200,000 miles – with a brand new Ford.

More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed nearly $21 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $56 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.6 billion in compensation since 1985.
