Two Super Jackpots for Superbowl Weekend

SACRAMENTO – What kind of Superbowl party could you throw with a $57 million budget? How much guacamole would $87 million buy? With no one matching all six numbers for either big jackpot game played in California this week, the top prizes for this weekend’s games total more than $140 million.
The next draw for MEGA Millions is on Friday. Its jackpot will be $87 million. That’s the largest jackpot prize in North America.

SuperLOTTO Plus comes in second on the top prize scoreboard with $57 million to those who predict all of its six winning numbers. The next draw for SuperLOTTO Plus is Saturday.

Tickets for both games are available at the more than 19,000 California Lottery retail locations. Players may choose to play the “California Combo,” which is five Quick Pick tickets for MEGA Millions and five Quick Pick tickets for SuperLOTTO Plus, all in one transaction.
As jackpots rise, the California Lottery reminds players that gambling should be fun. Borrowing money to play, spending beyond a person’s budget or using money intended for other purposes can ultimately lead to significant problems for players and their families. If a player recognizes that they have a gambling problem or if someone knows of someone who may have a problem, the California Lottery recommends calling the Problem Gambling Help Line at 1-800-GAMBLER.

More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to California schools out of total sales of nearly $55 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.5 billion in compensation since 1985.
