SACRAMENTO – This week on The Big Spin show, three contestants won a total of $195,000. The show aired statewide Saturday, February 23, 2008. The grand total won this week was $217,500!
This week’s first contestant was Michael Mullican, a business owner and part-time musician from Visalia who went straight to the wheel after uncovering “Spin-Spin-Spin” on his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket. Mullican won $75,000 and hopes to buy a car and upgrade his music equipment. “I bought my ticket during lunchtime and after scratching it I was nervous walking around with the ticket in my pocket,” said Mullican.
This was the second time that another contestant tried his luck at the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine. Johnny Wong, a computer programmer from Alhambra won $60,000 and plans to pay bills and take his family on a trip to New York. The first time he was on the show he won $70,000 and sent his daughter to college and bought a car.
Last up was David Leyva, a cannery worker from Modesto who outplayed nine other contestants in Aces High. Leyva also won $60,000 and says, “I had a good warm feeling that I would win big.” He can’t wait to open his dream business. “I’ve always wanted to open up a Mexican restaurant and now I can make my dream come true.”
