Attention Last Minute Shoppers! California Lottery Offers Gifts That Could Be More

SACRAMENTO – With only TWO more days left until Christmas, the California Lottery offers Holiday-related gifts that may bring someone millions!

This year, the California Lottery has some exciting new holiday-related products to introduce to its players. All products are available at the Lottery’s approximately 19,000 retail locations statewide. To locate a retailer near you, please visit http://www.calottery.com/secondarynav/retaillocations.

Gift Cards – The California Lottery is the first lottery in the nation to ever offer gift cards.  The new gift cards will be around all year but are becoming available just in time for the holiday season. Players will now have an easy solution for that “hard to buy for person” on their list. These gift cards work like most other gift cards, you decide what denomination the card will be for and give it as a gift, it is up to the recipient to decide what to spend it on, New Year’s Raffle tickets, SuperLOTTO Plus tickets, Scratchers, MEGA Millions tickets, whatever Lottery products they would like!

New Year’s Raffle Tickets – This popular game is back again but only for a limited time.  Tickets are available through December 30 or until the game sells out, which ever comes first.  This game offers the best odds of winning $1 million ever for a California Lottery game.  $6.5 million in prizes will be awarded on New Year’s Eve!

Holiday Gift Tag Scratchers – “T’is the Season” is a holiday-related game that serves two purposes, it is a colorful $1 Scratchers ticket that offers a top prize of $1,000 and is also a gift tag to be used alone or on top of a present.  What better way to celebrate the season than to try and win $1,000?

Over 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions.  The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed more than $19.6 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $53.25 billion. Retailers win too, earning $3.4 billion in compensation since 1985.
