Only 5 More Days Until the New Year’s Raffle…

Why wouldn’t you take advantage of the best odds of winning a million bucks ever offered by a California Lottery game?

There are only 5 more days until sales start for the Million Dollar Raffle game.  The California Lottery is bringing back its Million Dollar Raffle game, just in time for the New Year!

The New Year’s Raffle has the best odds of winning a million bucks ever offered by a California Lottery game, and is simpler than ever.  Unlike typical lottery drawings, tickets for the raffle are limited. Chances of winning the top prize are one in 130,000.  Only 650,000 tickets will be sold and each ticket will have five unique sets of Raffle numbers, for a price of $20.  Numbers will be sold in sequence and when all 650,000 Raffle tickets are gone, they’re gone. Raffle sales start November 19, 2007 and continue until all 650,000 Raffle numbers are sold out or until December 30, 2007, whichever comes first.

The New Year’s Raffle will make five lucky players millionaires.  The five Grand Prize winners of $1 million cash will be drawn on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2007.   In addition to drawing the Grand Prize winners on New Year’s Eve, there will be 50 winners of $10,000 and 500 winners of $2008!  That’s 555 chances to win a prize and more than $6.5 million given away in prizes!

Over 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions.  The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed more than $19.6 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $53.25 billion. Retailers win too, earning $3.4 billion in compensation since 1985.
