SuperLOTTO Plus Removal of Cash Option Pre-Selection FAQ’S
- Why are you taking away the privilege to choose the cash option prior to purchasing the ticket? Why are you making this change?
To speed up the transaction process and make our 2 largest Jackpot games more similar.
- If my ticket purchase defaults to annuity, will I be able to choose the cash option later if I win?
Yes, you will have 60 days starting when your winning ticket is verified, to choose Cash or Annuity payments.
- Will I be allowed to cancel my ticket if it is incorrect?
Yes, SuperLOTTO Plus tickets can be cancelled on the same day and at the same location they were purchased, as long as the pool for that draw hasn’t closed. Please remember, MEGA Millions® wagers are final and cannot be cancelled.
- I have a stack of playslips, can I still use the same SuperLOTTO Plus playslips for my purchases?
Yes, all your existing playslips can still be used
- Will the SuperLOTTO PLUS ticket look different?
Slightly. The payment option will no longer appear on the ticket.
- When will this change take place?
The change is effective September 20, 2005.
- I have an Advance Play® ticket, how will this change affect my choice?
Players with Advance Plays purchased prior to September 20th cannot change their Cash Prize payout choice to Annuity, but Advance Plays with Annuity option will have 60 days from verification to change their choice to the cash option. All winners who purchased after September 20th will have 60 days from verification to choose their payment option.
- Who made the decision to eliminate prize payment pre-selection for SuperLOTTO Plus?
No single person makes a decision like this. The Lottery has a number of review and advisory committees which make recommendations to a group of senior staff members representing all the Lottery divisions. By consensus they approve these decisions. These types of decisions are made with our players and Retailers in mind and are intended to simplify games and reduce confusion.
