The California Lottery’s Security/Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was created to ensure the integrity, honesty, and fairness in the operation and administration of the Lottery and its employees and to be a champion for consumer protection at the Lottery.

In support of its mission, the California Lottery employs Lottery agents to conduct criminal, civil and administrative investigations. Lottery agents are peace officers as defined in Penal Code section 830.3(p) whose primary duties shall be the enforcement of Lottery-related laws.
