Promotional Item Recall
The California State Lottery would like to warn consumers about some promotional items that have been found to contain toxic content. Recently, the State requested that all agencies and departments review their promotional items for toxic content. In turn, the Lottery had all promotional items tested for hazardous toxins. If you possess any of the following you should discontinue use and dispose of them properly.
Name of Product and Promotion:
24-pack cooler (soft portable cooler with the MEGA Millions® logo)
The 24-pack cooler was ordered as a promotion for Mega Millions. Trace toxins were detected in this product and it is considered hazardous. These items must be disposed of in a manner appropriate for hazardous materials.
Units: 850
Orange Jotters (orange plastic notebook with the California Lottery logo)
The orange jotters were given away at various conferences around the state. Trace toxins were detected in this product and it is considered hazardous. These items must be disposed of in a manner appropriate for hazardous materials.
Units: 355
Remedy: If you or someone you know have these items, please discontinue use immediately. Items may be mailed to the Lottery’s headquarters in Sacramento or taken to any Lottery District Office for proper disposal.
Additionally, the Lottery is now requiring all our promotional item vendors to certify their products against toxins prior to being considered for an order.
