Manuel Ortega
Manuel Ortega, of Yorba Linda, was appointed to the California State Lottery Commission by Governor Schwarzenegger on March 29, 2005.
Chief Ortega served as Chief of Police in three different communities. Most recently, he retired from the City of Bell Gardens in December 2005, after serving five years as its Chief of Police.
In addition, Commissioner Ortega was appointed to the Commission of Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T), served as chairman of the P.O.S.T. Commission for one year in 1996-97, and served on the Board of Prison Terms from 1997 to 2000.
